Frequently asked questions.

What’s the difference between a consultation and an arborist report?

consultation is an informal service—ideal for quick, budget-friendly advice on tree health, pruning, or basic management. It may be delivered verbally or with a brief summary.

An arborist report is a formal document prepared by a qualified consulting arborist. These reports are typically required for Council submissions, development applications, permit requests, or legal matters and include detailed assessments and technical recommendations.

Do your reports meet Council requirements?

Yes. Our reports are prepared in line with Australian Standard AS 4970-2009 – Protection of Trees on Development Sites and address relevant local planning overlays or controls. While we can’t guarantee approval, our reports are designed to meet Council expectations and reduce the need for additional information requests.

How much does an arborist report cost?

Costs vary depending on the number of trees, site complexity, and the level of detail required. We offer both basic and comprehensive reporting options to suit different needs and budgets.

  • Informative site consultations start from as little as $150

  • Our quotes are highly competitive—contact us for a tailored estimate based on your project.

Can you help with neighbour disputes about trees?

Yes. We provide impartial assessments and formal reports to assist in tree-related neighbour disputes. Our reports help reduce emotional conflict and support constructive, evidence-based discussions. We can also advise on mediation options and offer expert witness support, if needed.

Do I need Council approval to remove a tree?

In many cases, yes—especially if your property falls under a Vegetation Protection Overlay (VPO) or Heritage Overlay. We can help determine whether approval is needed and guide you through the permit application process.

How long does it take to receive a report?

Turnaround depends on the scope of work. Most reports are completed within 3–7 business days of the site visit. If you're in a hurry, expedited service may be available—just let us know your deadline.

Are your arborists qualified?

Absolutely. All formal assessments and reports are prepared by qualified consulting arborists with extensive experience. You can trust that our advice is independent, professional, and aligned with recognised industry standards.

Can you arrange necessary tree works?

We’re an independent consultancy and not affiliated with any tree contractors. This ensures our advice is completely unbiased and focused solely on your best interests.

While we don’t organise tree works directly, we’re happy to guide you on:
